This is an awe-inspiring work of art.  It is my favorite Christensen and is one of my favorite parables in the bible.  Jesus told the ten lepers to go to show themselves to the priest.  In order to show themselves to the priest, they would have to enter the courts of the temple where only Jews are allowed.  In fact, non-Jews would be killed if they attempted to enter this area.  The Samaritan, however, didn't stand and argue/debate with Jesus as to why he couldn't do it, like so many of us would do, he just did it!  So, when he got healed, he knew his miracle and did not take it for granted and had to go back to thank Jesus, whereas the other nine, who were Jews, took their miracle for granted.
