Missy belonged first to my sister, who rescued her from a shelter, and then later she belonged to me. She was very large, as bicolors (the technical name for cats that are black and white), tend to get. She had a big head, with a big body and a long tail to go with it. Her black-and-whiteness made her really fun to draw, especially in ink on white paper. This drawing was done using a sumi brush and the end of the stopper from the india ink bottle. Nancy LeMay is listed in Whos Who in American Art and Whos Who in American Women. Her diverse career has spanned more than 30 years; her first commercial job was a logotype design for the City of New York, done while she was a sophomore at the High School of Art & Design. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts, she is the proud winner of five Emmy Awards for Art Direction and Broadcast Design, as well as three awards from the Broadcast Designer's Association and four awards from the Associated Press. Her graphic design work is featured in the book "White Graphics", published by Rockport Press.
